Removal & Replacement

HOW

Full depth removal and replacement is a form of repair to address broken and/or deteriorated asphalt, commonly known as alligatoring. The damaged asphalt is typically removed to a depth of 4-6" depending on the site or property use i.e. residential communities, shopping center, trucking facilities. The base can then be re-compacted and/or replaced if necessary. The new hot mix asphalt is applied in (2) lifts: base course for compaction purposes and a cap (finished layer).

WHEN

The cause stems from movement of the underlying base which reflects cracking, separation of the finished asphalt surface or possibly failure.
